What is the main difference between Warseer rules and the previous version of the rules?

The Legends of Signum rules have undergone a comprehensive and global overhaul. This includes the shift to hexes and changes in combat mechanics. Essentially, it represents the culmination of our five years of gaming experience. Many decisions implemented here have accumulated over this time. When we realized that we had accumulated a sufficient pool of global changes, we decided that it was time for the game’s second release.

Is this a global update that will affect all existing factions?

Yes, indeed. One of the main goals of the updated rules was to allow players to dust off their old models and summon them back onto the battlefield. After all, all models will receive new game cards, and you will be able to feel how the dynamics and pace of the game have changed in Signum 2. We hope to complete the revision of all cards and game factions by the time the Kickstarter campaign begins. All updated materials will be freely available for download. Additionally, you will have the option to order an update pack for your faction on our website.

Can I combine Warseer with other starters and models from Legends of Signum that I currently own?

In terms of gameplay, this is a different game - faster, more dynamic, and potentially even more challenging. So, you cannot combine them directly. However, by downloading cards for old miniatures, you can easily use them.

I already have Legends of Signum characters. How can I get new character cards for the characters I already own? Or will I have to buy these models again to play by Warseer rules?

You will be able to download all the necessary materials from our website after the Legends of Signum 2 Kickstarter campaign. Additionally, sets with components (game board, dice, hexes, support cards, etc.) necessary for a full game will be available for purchase. Moreover, you will have the option to freely order character cards in printed form alongside this set.

I see updated character models that I already have. Does this mean there are plans to update all old models?

No, we are selectively redesigning some characters. However, it will not be a widespread occurrence.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Are you planning to re-release updated heroes of the Grypharim Empire and Vallor (Roland, Zenobia, Brissa, etc.) for Warseer rules?

For starters, these heroes will receive updated cards and completely reworked unique cards for the Battle Deck. In the future, we do not rule out that some hero models will be updated and presented to you in a new form. But not all of them. Unfortunately, the fate of some heroes is quite dramatic. Betrayals and twists of fate will be ruthless towards them. But heroes are meant to endure all hardships.

Is the Iron Nest Empire the same faction as the Grypharim Empire with a different name, or is it an entirely new faction?

It’s both yes and no. We are carefully working on our lore, and soon you will be able to explore the next chapter of Signum, where you will learn a lot about the further history of the Empire. This state possesses the most advanced military machinery in Signum. Its further development is closely tied to technological progress, albeit based on magic. In addition, the actions of the Church of Emrys, which seeks to subject the emperor to its will and become the sole state religion, lead to division within the state. The Grypharims are no longer allies of the emperor. Damian declares his bet – the Iron Nest is the sole center of power. But the wheel of contradictions is impossible to stop. Moreover, while the empire was engaged in crusades, an ancient enemy prepared to strike at the heart of the empire… The Iron Nest Empire is a new faction, just as Signum 2 Warseer is a new game.

Do you plan to continue supporting the game with the old Signum rules?

We have definitely planned to release several more new factions within the framework of the first version of the rules based on grid geometry. However, even after the official release of Warseer, we do not intend to completely abandon support for this version. Both rule variants have turned out to be too different to definitively favor one over the other. Instead, we intend to maintain the first version of the rules based on grid geometry alongside the hexagonal rules.

Some time will pass before this Kickstarter is shipped. Will your next characters and factions be designed for the Warseer rules, or will you continue to release new models and factions for the rules that are currently in effect?

We do not plan to announce the release of a new rules version until the Legends of Signum 2 Warsir Kickstarter has been fully distributed. We hope that the shipping process for this Kickstarter won’t take too long, given our extensive experience in running and fulfilling Kickstarter projects. However, due to the current complex situation in the world and in our country in particular, the timelines may be slightly longer than we anticipate.

Is there a point in buying new factions if the characters and support cards for them will become outdated in a few months?

As we’ve mentioned, Warseer represents not so much a rules update as a fundamentally different perspective on the world of Signum. Some may like it, and others may not. Just as some prefer grid geometry while others prefer hexes. You don’t necessarily have to give up on the original Signum when Warseer becomes available. Currently, there are already many factions and cards available for the original version, with more than 20 factions, which is significantly more than in some other projects. Moreover, several large and interesting factions are yet to be released. Even if new releases were to cease for some reason at some point, the old ones will still be valid.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Currently, we see only 2 factions that can be played with the Warseer rules. When will we see more factions for the new rules?

Approximately when the Kickstarter is distributed, players will receive several updated factions. Whether all at once or gradually, we cannot provide a guaranteed answer at this time.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Do you plan to convert all the existing factions to Warseer rules eventually?

Yes we will do it in the future.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

If all factions are converted to Warseer rules, will I still be able to get support cards and components for another, earlier version of the rules, and how?

We still have a wealth of ideas and developments for the first version of the rules, so we would be happy to share them with you. Additionally, we strive to ensure that all rule versions and cards are available digitally to our customers.

Why Vallor and the Empire again? Aren't there any ideas for new factions?

Probably because Vallor and the Empire are our favorite factions! :)))) Yes, we thought long and hard about which factions to use as a starting point in Signum 2. Perhaps we could have chosen some northern wolfens, orc barbarians, or eastern warriors. However, these two factions are close to our hearts. They represent classics for us! Furthermore, our lore tells the story of this conflict in great detail, as many events in Signum are connected to this rivalry.

Can I study the Warseer rules in advance?

We would be pleased if you did. You can download the current rules here, and you can also play a digital version on tabletop with a friend. (Here it would be good to provide a link to the PDF rules and tabletop. Before the official release of Warseer, we will regularly update our tabletop version. I want to get stretch goals (models and other materials) that are not included in my pledge.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

How can I do that?

You can always upgrade to a version that includes all the stretch goals you like. Please note that the all-in pledge includes all models from add-ons, accessories, and stretch goals. After the Kickstarter is fulfilled, most items will be available in our online store.

You state that Warseer can be played by four players; how does that work?

In reality, Signum 2 Warseer scales perfectly for 2v2 gameplay. You don’t even need a double-sized board; you can use the standard board included in the starter set. Players split into two teams, with two heroes on each side battling it out. Honestly, this is our favorite game mode. In this mode, the game becomes even more dynamic and challenging. You will, of course, need an additional set of support cards and characters, but it’s well worth it. We’ve even experimented with a three-player mode. Admittedly, the standard board isn’t entirely symmetrical for this mode, but it’s still possible.

How has the combat mechanics changed in Signum 2?

We pondered for a long time whether we should change the combat system in the new version of the game, aside from transitioning from free geometry to hexes. We concluded that the game’s pace is significantly improved when only one player—the attacker—rolls the dice during combat. To achieve this, we made the combat dice asymmetric and divided them into three types: bronze, silver, and gold. The color of the die reflects its effectiveness. In other words, a character with two bronze dice will fight less effectively than a master with one gold die. However, with a bit of luck, such a character might roll two successes and deal twice as much damage. We also changed the symbols on the dice. Now, as a result of an attack, you can inflict damage on the opponent, force them to retreat, or deal critical damage. This is a special ability that allows your character to use a range of unique abilities. For example, swapping places with an opponent, applying stun, or making them flee in fear.

Will the Warseer system retain the faction-specific support card system and universals?

The system is changing somewhat. It has been significantly simplified, allowing the player to spend almost no time preparing the Battle Deck before the game. Now, when you choose a faction and a hero, it determines the composition of your deck. You can choose only characters, not cards in the deck.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Can I use faction support cards or universals that I already have in Warseer?

No, the design and properties of the cards have been completely reworked and adapted for hex-based gameplay.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Will the scale of the models change in the future?

We plan to add an option to the store where you can choose to order models in a slightly smaller 28mm scale. However, our standard 32mm scale will remain unchanged. We are confident that our models shine best at this scale.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

Are your models cast or 3D printed?

Currently, most of our models are 3D printed using state-of-the-art 3D printers with resolutions of 8k and 10k. This allows us to create models that require minimal assembly. We only need to separate some parts on the largest models for ease of shipping. We also strive to meticulously process the model before sending it to the customer.

Last updated: October 03, 2023 09:18

What resin do you use?

We use gray resin 8k for printing our models.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
