Friends, we know which news about our project you are most eager to hear.

The proofreading of the rulebook and cards is nearly complete, after which all files will be sent to the printing house. Most of the models are already printed and packed.

This means we will be able to start shipping your pledges by the end of July!

Big update
7 months ago – Thu, Apr 11, 2024 at 01:54:28 AM

Friends, let's start with the most important thing: over the past time, we have produced more than 90% of the models for the Starter Boxes.
Unfortunately, due the lack of electricity, our workshops have not been able to operate at full capacity in recent weeks. But despite this problem a significant number of models for the Advanced Boxes have also been produced.

In addition, we received all the dice. All of these colors seem to look good.

Player's tablets  and battlefields have already been made. We expect delivery of these gaming components next month.

About the game:

As we’re getting closer to the final development stage of Warseer, we’re happy to share some details about new modes and mechanics designed to enrich our players’ experience. Our goal is to offer a variety of game modes that can be interesting for both newcomers and seasoned strategists.

Duel and Scenario

To provide quick immersion with the rules and game mechanics, we developed a duel-based scenario for two players. This mode includes the use of the scenario cards provided, a variety of heroes, new characters for your warband, and unique terrains. This adds depth and a wide range of tactics on the battlefield.

Tournament Mode

The Tournament mode transforms a typical duel ‘player vs. player’ into a massive challenge. We recommend playing this mode after several games, so that participants would understand rules and mechanics beforehand. Tournament consists of a series of connected matches, where the wins gain you not just victory points, but also Dragon Coins - a unique in-game currency for improving your warband and upgrading before every match. Alliance Clash

Inside the Alliance Clash mode, players fight in teams of two. Every player chooses a Hero for themselves, which can add a unique set of gameplay elements to the battle. During the fight, every pair of players acts as an alliance, nevertheless every one of them has their own deck for battle, an income and a restriction: a player cannot summon characters from their partner’s deck.

Free-for-All

Free-for-All mode is designed for 3-4 players, who fight each for themselves, choose a Hero and use their own set of gameplay elements. Without alliances, every player is in charge of their own strategy and actions, aiming to outsmart the rivals and prevail.

Solo Mode

For those who prefer exploring the wastelands of Signum by themselves, we developed a solo campaign. It consists of different scenarios for players to go through, gathering a pack of brave adventurers and getting enforcement by the improvement cards. The difficulty of scenarios increases up to the final fight with the boss. You generate every campaign by yourselves, using 3 basic, 3 medium and 1 boss missions, which offer you a different experience at every playthrough.

Mechanics:

Push Mechanic

We perfected the Push mechanic by adding an option to choose a direction of a push. From now on, if the enemy runs into a terrain while being pushed, they get an extra damage. This brings dynamics and strategic richness to your fights.

Warseer introduces improvement cards that allow every player to upgrade their warband.

All cards have their own category:

-Buildings

-Magic

-Relics

-Tactics

Also they are divided into three stacks (A, B, and Solo Mode), which makes the gameplay more flexible and interesting.

We hope that these innovations will enrich your experience and add new strategic changes to Warseer.

Look out for the next update soon. We will talk about the progress of production, and our vision for the development of the game in the future.

February Update: About production of miniatures.
9 months ago – Mon, Feb 12, 2024 at 04:08:51 AM

Friends, the production of miniatures for the Warseer game is in full swing. We already have approximately 70% of the models for the Starter Boxes. Models from add-ons (and models from the All-in pledges) will be made after we finish assembling the basic pledges.

We have also created several prototypes of Hexarebus (dice trays). Now we have chosen the best material for crafting this accessory.

Some backers still haven't finalized their pledges on Backerkit.

If you haven't completed the survey yet, make sure to fill that out as soon as possible. The survey completion determines the production and shipping order, so otherwise, you'll have to wait for your parcel a bit longer!

Game development news
11 months ago – Wed, Jan 10, 2024 at 05:34:05 AM

We continue to talk about the development of “Legends of Signum II: Warseer”. This time we are going to touch on topics such as the balance of the combat system, the characters and some of the innovations.

We have already finished the main mechanics of the game, the character design, the game economy and many other things. But there’s one detail that’s still keeping us busy, and that’s the balance of power on the battlefield. After many stages of testing and a huge number of rolls, it became clear that the combat mechanics needed to be more flexible, as there are situations where the probability gap between rolls is too large.

In the course of testing, we came to the conclusion that the dices needed to be changed. These are the dices that determine whether or not you can hit your opponent. The optimal solution is to add two new dices. In the game, they are green and purple. We have also redesigned the red dice. Players now have up to five dices with different chances of hitting, push or missing.

The critical hit has also been changed. For example, the green and purple dices will not have a critical hit, which is necessary to allow for flexibility in character customisation. These dices will also be used for additional effects, such as attacking from a hill. The red dice is a bit different, as it has absolutely no empty edges, and therefore you can not miss now. When throwing this dice, players can always count on a certain result, be it push, wounding or critical hit.

In addition to these innovations, we have abolished the binding of the dices to the metal colours. Now it’s just a set of cubes with different colours. We have also partially removed the mechanics of “upgrading” and “downgrading” dice classes. For example, instead of “upgrade the weakest dice”, it will now be “add a blue/purple dice to the roll”. Taken together, all of this will improve the overall gameplay experience as well as the flexibility of character balancing.

This brings us to the main topic – character balancing. Balance itself is the search for the golden mean, where neither side in a confrontation has a clear advantage or disadvantage. In our case, it’s about balancing the characteristics of a character, and by extension, a squad or even a faction. We are making the system with the expectation of a large number of characters and factions, as in the future we plan to transfer all the factions and characters already existing in Signum to the rules of “Legends of Signum II: Warseer”.

With the changes to the dice, we have the opportunity to reflect the character’s fighting ability. In a direct fight, a burly warrior will certainly be able to show himself off better than a city brigand. He is unlikely to miss when he attacks. At least the probability of such an outcome is minimal. Also, the extra cubes make up the difference between the two extreme options: damaging the enemy or doing nothing. The chance to drop an attack on a “weak” cube is too small, and on a medium dice – too large.
With such innovations, the characteristics of each character will become more subtle, and balancing will become more flexible and accurate. We hope that such changes will improve the processes within “Legends of Signum II: Warseer” and add variety to the game experience. We also want to say that the game is still in development and some details may change.

Dear friends, we wish you a Merry Christmas!
